About this Course:

This is an introductory 4 -6 day course, suitable for  


Manual Osteopathic Practitioners (DOMPs), Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) , Physiotherapists ( PTs), or other Manual Therapist


This course is highly recommended for Practitioners who wish to learn the basics of incorporating Cranial Osteopathy into their treatments 


                   We accept a maximum number of participants per course to allow for more supervised practice time with our Instructor.


Each participant receives a Complete 50 page Color Workbook is provided containing diagrams, explanations of various cranial patterns of dysfunctions, Assessment Sheets, Clinic Practice Sheets for beginners, ect.


Certificates of  Completion are awarded to Participants who successfully complete the four day course.  Certificates can be submitted to their respective associations for CEUs or can be displayed in their clinics.

This four day course will teach the practitioner to develop the palpation skills necessary to treat the Cranio-Sacral System. 

Participants will learn to identify & treat all the major components of this system.


This course will also provide the Practitioner with the fundamentals knowledge and skills necessary to participate in any of the Advanced Cranial Pathologies seminars.


Day 1


Sutherland’s contribution to Cranio-Sacral Treatment: “The Primary Respiratory Mechanism”

Functional anatomy of the cranium, sacrum, & connective tissue

Learning to palpate for and locate the components of the cranium

The Importance of cranial sutures

A review of suture anatomy & suture compaction

Locating & palpating for sutures & suture compaction

Treating suture compression using the V-spread technique

The Importance of the dura mater in cranio-sacral treatment

Learning to locate the dura mater & its points of attachment


Day 2


The Primary Respiratory Mechanism and Cranio-Sacral Motion’s Mechanism

The Cranio-Sacral Rhythmic Impulse (CRI) & the Cranio-Sacral Rhythm

The centre of it all: the Spheno-Basilar Symphesis (SBS)

Learning to palpate & identify the CRI on various patients

The phases of Cranio-Sacral Movement:

Flexion / Internal Rotation & Extension / External Rotation

Learning to palpate & identify the two phases of movement: Flexion & Extension
